Tricia Thom creates wheel-thrown porcelain vessels in her studio just south of Edinburgh, Scotland.
Her work reflects a love of Japanese aesthetic; simplicity, balance and grace, exploring domestic themes including teapots and moon jar forms with roots in ritual and community.
Bold calligraphic brush motifs are contrasted by the uniformity and precision of the thrown form. Some surfaces are treated with saturated oxide splash, while others are glazed with a clear/blue glaze serves to enhance the fine quality of porcelain
