Nic Stace

Nic Stace creates ceramic sculptures exploring identity, change, and the shifting roles we inhabit. Combining handbuilding and slipcasting, she contrasts grogged stoneware with porcelain. Her grounded figures have interchangeable heads and no fixed front or back. Embracing cracks and imperfections, her intuitive, painterly surfaces balance confidence, humour, vulnerability and resilience.
