Johanne Coker

A series of thrown vessels exploring the nature of porcelain. Notorious for its unwillingness to stretch and bend without collapsing but prized for its strength, purity and the beauty of its surface. Each piece is thrown on the wheel, pushed further than it should be until it starts to fold into flowing, organic waves and each one is unique.

I have been studying ceramics for twenty years and have a studio in Brentford. I have been developing this range to showcase my throwing skills and my obsession with porcelain.
