Helen’s sculptural pieces are hand-coiled, each piece is built over several days and steadily grow and evolve into an individual unique forms, curving and flowing causing shadows and openings within, exploring the negative space.
The narrow-necked bottle forms are made using soft slabs, which creates a fluidity giving each a life and character if its own.
They are all burnished, and raku fired using the ‘naked raku’ technique, which adds to the individuality and creates a calming presence.
