In my work I aim to create vessels that have a sense of movement and physicality. I do this by marking and drawing into soft slabs of clay that are then formed into cylinders and manipulated. This making process allows me to create unique forms with fluid contours and shadows.
Natural colours and unglazed surfaces are used to complement the form and provide a subtle tactile quality to the vessels. My primary material is a grogged porcelain which I then blend with other clays, oxides and stains in order to create the coloured pieces.
