My work is rooted in the natural environment, informed by the impermanence of nature and its continuous renewal. Walking daily, I observe the subtle changes as the seasons flow. The interplay of light draws my eye to the often-unregarded fragments of nature. The process of creating is a meditative one. Being outside, in the landscape, is of prime importance to me in our digitally saturated world. I cast in clay, ‘en plein air’, which enables me to halt natures flow.
Creating delicately textured vessels in porcelain paper clay, these fragile vessels are transformed with the addition of light.
