My cartoon-like figurative ceramics are intended to be visual puns about the human condition. Narratives based on personal experiences and cultural observations are intended to be ambiguous, titles or symbols can suggest alternative, sometimes darker interpretations. I use humour to ‘sugar the pill’ by creating unlikely scenarios, ridiculous juxtapositions or exaggerating the familiar. These themes also extend to a range of figurative vases and other functional items.
