I make a range of pots using slip decorated earthenware and ash glazed porcelains. The innate qualities of porcelain accentuates the soft and gentle forms I am drawn to throw. I look for a ‘sense of quiet’. Whereas my earthenware pieces often begin with the clay as a canvas working wet slip into wet, layer upon layer of pours, drips, trails. feathering and brush marks delivered with intensity and speed.
